Uganda Tourism goes down further

As the Ministry of Tourism occupies itself with a big deal to demolish the Uganda Museum, one of the Uganda's many tourist attractions, our competitors are moving on. The New rankings put Uganda at 115th position compared to 111th in 2009.

Uganda, according to the global world rankings is among the lowest performing in the tourism sector although the World Economic Forum estimates that the country made $660 Million from Travel and tourism sector in 2010.

The rankings are based on the factors and policies that make travel and tourism industry attractive for development and examines the regulations and business environment, human, natural resources ad safety and security in 139 countries world wide.

It's important to that Uganda is world's top green destinations with exclusive unique attractions including more than a half of the world's mountain gorillas, highest bird population, flora and fauna, diverse culture and the safety is now above average.

With all these natural endowments, one wonders why Uganda should not be among  the leading destinations! A quick answer is that Uganda is killing its own baby! Poor policies, rampant corruption will keep haunting us to the last man standing
